Go Hokies!

20140920_124124Today we went to the Virginia Tech vs. Georgia Tech football game! We were told that this is the loudest stadium in the country due to its design, even though it only holds 55,000 people.

vtgWe were winning the entire game….except for the last 3 seconds ๐Ÿ™

cwTailgaters everywhere!

20140920_154937We stopped at a lemonade stand on the way back to the car and headed home to Penny ๐Ÿ™‚

Go Hokies!

vtCasey and I went to Blacksburg, VA to the location of the undergraduate VT campus, about 40 minutes away. We were amazed by the beauty of the campus-it was gorgeous! We both got VT shirts in preparation for our first football game we are going to on Saturday! Go Hokies!

20140918_205710We also went out to dinner with about 30 of Casey’s classmates to celebrate the other September birthdays ๐Ÿ™‚

Today

bdBesides the usual shtuff, today we refilled our water jugs (Yes, we finally found a place to refill at so we can reuse our jugs and not pay $14 for 10 gallons of water…yikes!) and Casey received an awesome King’s hat in the mail! We will be making phone calls tomorrow to find out who sent it-he loves it, so THANK YOU! ๐Ÿ™‚

Roanoke River Trail

20140906_100050A scenic drive took us to our next adventure location!rrtThe Roanoke River Trail

fgColor galore!

ubThrough the forest, under a bridge, to the…power plant…? we go!

niaWe ended up at Niagara Hydro Power plant. If you hear sirens, you have exactly 2 minutes to head to high ground in order to avoid the dangerously high water level rise coming. No wonder there were sandals and t shirts left behind.

psThe little one had fun splashing in the pools and soaking in the dead crayfish water. Yum. ย  ย  ย  ย  At least we wore her out before the thunderstorm ๐Ÿ™‚
