Happy Thanksgiving!

This year we headed down to Carslbad to be with my grandpa for Thanksgiving. We had a great meal, met lots of new people, played bocce ball for the first time, and had a camp out in the living room with myself, Casey, Robby, and Kori all snuggled in sleeping bags.

Our wonderful friends Allie and Leslie took care of our crazy dogs and left us with festive and oh so yummy cupcakes. When we returned home, Casey and I celebrated again with some of his family. We even got to play with the new baby in the family 🙂 What a great holiday!

Meet Boston

This is a dog that you would want to clone. He is so well behaved, friendly, and the softest dog I have ever felt. I have been watching him this past week while his owners went back east. I hope they go on another trip soon so I can watch him again 🙂

Lee Vining Trip Day 5

That morning we said goodbye to Lee Vining and started our journey home. I had never been to Yosemite before, so we drove through on our way out.

Goldie did great winding through the mountains when she was fully loaded.
Half Dome!

Bridalveil Falls

After making our way out of Yosemite, we made one last stop at Casey’s beloved Del Taco before arriving safely back in SB. What a great trip!

Lee Vining Trip Day 4

We started the day with a visit from Casey’s great Uncle Augie. He plays golf all the time and showed off his new hole in one trophy. Can you believe he is 98?! Amazing! He seriously looks so much younger.

Then Casey’s grandparents and I hopped in the truck and drove up a mountain ahead of Casey on his mountain bike. It was a very steep climb, but Casey powered up.

That is Mono Lake in the background.

Chugging away!

He made it to the top!

The view at the top.

That evening we went down to visit Mono Lake and take pics of the tufa.

Just when we were leaving the lake, this owl landed near us!

So regal.

Lee Vining Trip Day 2

Casey and I started the day with a 22 mile bike ride up into the mountains. Our destination was beautiful Walker Lake, nestled among the aspen and pine trees.

How pretty is this view?!
Later that night we played Phase 10, watched the Giants win the World Series, ate steak and potatoes by the fire, and just when we were falling asleep in bed, we heard a thud right outside our window. We looked outside only to see . . .
A BEAR!
This cub was climbing the apple tree and shaking the branches to make the apples fall. Then he would climb down and have a feast!
